Akhil appeared for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination for the first time in 2019. Could not pre-qualify in first attempt. Made five consecutive attempts. He cleared the mains thrice in five attempts. He got success in the interview twice. And finally, his dream of becoming an IAS was fulfilled. When the UPSC results for the year 2022 came, it was revealed that Akhil missed a place in the merit list by a small margin.

566th rank in the year 2021 and 321st in 2023

Akhil tells that it was his dream to become an IAS. Which was completed after continuous efforts. In the year 2018, after doing civil engineering from Kakatiya Institute of Technology, Warangal, he started preparing for UPSC. Akhil appeared for the UPSC exam for the first time in 2019. He could not pre-qualify in his first attempt. He did not give up and persevered. In 2021 he achieved 566th rank.

After this he got a job as Assistant Commissioner in Delhi Police. He wanted to become an IAS so he decided to take another chance. He took a year’s leave from here to prepare for the exam again. And he accomplished what he had set out to do. He secured 321st in 2023 exam and became IAS. He cleared the mains thrice in his five attempts. He got success in the interview twice. Whatever time was left during ACP training, Akhil used to sit and prepare for the interview.

never took coaching

Akhil stayed in Kodapaka. Never took coaching for UPSC exam. Prepared by making your notes from materials available online. Along with time table, he laid emphasis on self-study.

Informed father over phone about selection in IAS

When the UPSC exam results came, the first thing he called his father and informed him. It was afternoon time. Father Buddhi Naresh was working on his fields. At the same time, Akhil called him and told him that Bapu, I have become an IAS. As soon as the king heard this, he jumped with joy. When he immediately reached home and gave the good news to his wife Lalita and younger son Ajay, the entire family started dancing in joy.
